國立故宮博物院 National Palace Museum 新增了 1 張相片。2016年3月11日上午9:24 · 西周晚期，銅器新紋飾紛紛出現，各諸侯國的作器也開始增多，逐漸開始發展東周地域的特色，從銘文記載的豐富，就足以顯示當時文字使用已高度成熟。這件【鄂侯簋（音同「軌」】，便是當時鄂侯將其女兒嫁予周王時所作，是陪嫁品之一。
（附圖右上側）器內銘文右側寫著：「鄂侯作王姞媵簋 王」，左側則寫道：「姞其萬年子子孫孫永寶」。（姞音同「吉」）

文物賞析：
鄂國為姞姓，其女兒嫁予周王，故稱「王姞」。「鄂侯簋」為嫁女媵送所作器，西周晚期至春秋，各國盛行聯姻，以穩定政治情勢，此即彼時風尚的見證。
Aristocratic marriages between nations were a popular means to bring political stability during late Western Zhou and into the Spring and Autumn period, as evidenced by this dowry vessel commissioned by Marquis of E for his daughter, to be cherished forever by all descendants of hers to come.
