中產階級抑鬱的形象在草間彌生的作品中總是揮之不去，並慢慢轉型成一些非真實的東西。草間彌生從90年代後期開始重新探索暗室的裝置藝術；展示日常生活家具和用具的空間覆蓋著螢光貼紙，表達了她的幻覺影像，也讓觀者感受她被精神官能症糾纏的痛楚。 Kusama’s works often has the image of bourgeois stasis that turned into… 更多 something surreal and uncanny.
