策展人的話：
方士庶(1692-1751)，字循遠，號環山，又號小師道人。歙縣人，家維揚。山水祖述婁東派，落筆蒼秀。本幅作於乾隆二年(1737)，作者四十六歲時，題跋中提及自己曾鑒賞董源〈夏山煙靄〉橫卷，而改以直幅模仿之。畫中將洲渚山巒，層層疊疊，延伸向上，以俯視的視角統合畫面。用筆造形，追隨原作，「處處平圓，不作一豪奇突狀」，深得董源之精神。
