策展人的話：
每年元旦子時，乾隆皇帝會在養心殿東暖閣舉行開筆儀式，迎接新年到來。以代表政權穩固的金甌永固杯飲用屠蘇酒，點燃玉燭長調燭台上象徵風調雨順的蠟燭，再持萬年青筆寫下新年祝願的吉語，並翻閱是年曆書，祈願國泰民安。儀式中的金甌永固杯是乾隆為開筆儀式諭令創製，而元旦飲屠蘇酒，則是承襲流傳已久的年節習俗。
