Most ceramics in the National Palace Museum collection were inherited from the Qing imperial court. The Magic of Kneaded Clay: A History of Chinese Ceramics catalogue presents the evolution of Chinese ceramics in a chronological order. The catalogue is divided into four themes, which are “Neolithic Age to Five Dynasties,” “Song to Yuan Periods,” “Ming Dynasty,” and “Qing Dynasty.” Each theme illustrates the change and development of the glaze and decorative patterns used to make Chinese ceramics, enabling readers to gain an insight into the development of Chinese ceramics.
