畫作賞析：
元代趙孟頫提出：「石如飛白木如 ，寫竹還須八法通。若也有人能會此，方知書畫本來同。」此幀畫迎風搖曳的新篁，筆法即如楷書，筆力遒勁。中國古代文人畫家，常以畫竹做為投贈，此幅即是唐寅贈給「君玉親家」的作品。畫竹以水墨為尚，畫家以水分調節墨色，形成乾、濕、濃、淡，深淺不一的墨彩，來表現各種色彩，這也就是「運墨而五色具」，所展現的不同趣味。本幅選自〈明人書畫扇（卯）冊〉第三開。
