策展人的話：
許初（活躍於十六世紀中期），字復初，一字元復，以縣學生序貢授教職，擢南京太僕寺主簿，書法師二王，工篆籀，亦善製印。此作可見以楷書筆法入篆的標題，以及端整恭謹的內文，為其難得之楷書佳作。該墓表為許初應董宜陽(1510-1572)之請抄錄成冊，原文為當時著名理學家鄒守益(1491-1562)所撰。董宜陽，字子元，博學工詩文，為華亭四賢之一。
