疏松兩株，前立奇石，一雉雞休憩其上，描繪禽鳥的結構兼用寫意和細筆，未求工整卻筆到意到，形神俱全。石以墨漬為主，幾不見線條，筆墨交融。稀落的松針和荊棘狀植物混用淡墨和焦墨筆，畫松幹則多溼筆，時以焦墨醒出枝條。此件扇面呈現文人雅秀逸趣，雖為小幅，構圖簡潔，卻豐富多變，用墨尤為精采，足見文徵明繪畫的功力。
