【Culture】Health And Body care
In Taiwan, we typically say "What's the matter with you?" (你怎麼了?/Nǐ zěnme le?) when we see a friend looking ill, and to find out if they are sick (生病/shēngbìng), have a headache (頭痛/tóutòng), or a cold (感冒/gǎnmào). As a follow up, you can ask them "Do you want to go to see a doctor?" (你要不要去看醫生?/Nǐ yào bú yào qù kàn… 更多 yīshēng?) or you can remind them to drink a lot of water and get more rest (多休息。/Duō xiūxí.). Taking medicine (吃藥/chī yào) is never pleasant, therefore, many Taiwanese people practice Tài Chí (太極/ Tàijí) regularly to maintain good health. There are more useful vocabulary and phrases to learn about this topic on the Taiwan Academy website!
