雍正七年(1729)，將武英殿造辦處更名為修書處。此後，武英殿成為專門製作朝廷敕修書籍的機構，堪稱當時的國家出版社。
目前正於103陳列室展出的「古籍與密檔」特展，特別設置了「武英聚珍」單元，展出不少當年武英殿所出的書籍。
