本季「造型與美感」的展覽分別自宋元明清等不同時代中選件，藉人物、花卉翎毛、山水等畫科中的風格典範組成幾個重要主題，並在歷史脈絡中加以變奏。繼昨天的【陳洪綬 三星圖】後，再介紹一件明代的作品。
夏昶（西元1388~1470年），江蘇崑山人，字仲昭，號自在居士、玉峰。永樂時登進士，正統中期官至太常寺卿。工楷書，擅畫墨竹，師承王紱（1362~1416）而有變化，名重域外，時有「夏卿一个竹，西涼十錠金」之譽，稍後略變師法而自創其格。
畫水濱坡石，襯以竹葉，畫葉用「个」、「介」相疊，以墨色濃淡分出前後，畫竹之枝節用筆勁利遒健，竿瘦而葉肥，與王紱有相通處。
Here in this painting is a slope at the water's edge shaded by bamboo leaves in overlapping single- and double-leaf forms. The darkness of ink varies from front to back, the brushwork for the branches strong and vigorous. Stems are thin and leaves thick, revealing a connection with Wang Fu's style.
