昨天介紹過這件黃楊木筆筒，描繪的人物和場景就是根據明清時期流行的「西園雅集」圖樣而來，而這些人物和場景可以分為5組。
從最為突出視覺的芭蕉林下老松旁斜擺著的長几開始，四週圍坐著一群表情愉悅的士人，手持筆著為蘇東坡，對面坐在高背椅上的是主人王詵，工匠巧妙地利用原材向內側深凹的自然狀況，使長几有足夠擺放的空間，有趣的是，似乎所有人的視線焦點集中在几旁坐於石頭上讀書的蘇轍，而不是蘇軾。(故宮文物月刊358期)
