白話版：
這種野獸生活在非洲，外型跟毛色都像是大隻的狼，牠的眼睛可以變換各種顏色，在夜晚的時候，會假裝人類的聲音，誘惑無辜的人上當，並將他吃掉。

「鬣狗」，古名「意夜納」。斑鬣狗是非洲的哺乳動物中能發出最多種叫聲的動物，現已發現有超過11種不同的聲音，但多是用來與同伴溝通，而不是用來誘人上當的喔。
