“This animal can be found on the island of Java. It has no feet, and uses the long piece of skin on its belly to wrap itself around tree branches and support its body. Its feathers are brightly colored, and pleasing to the eye. It appears to be able to survive simply by breathing air.”

這種動物出現在爪哇島。牠没有脚，腹部下方有一條堅靭的皮繩，用來纏住樹枝支撐身體。牠的羽毛色彩鮮豔，很討人喜歡。從沒有人看過牠喝水或吃東西，似乎只要呼吸空氣就能活下去。
📌極樂鳥（古名：無對鳥）學名：Paradisaea minor
📌補充說明：由於這種鳥被做成標本時腳已被貿易商人除去，探險家不知道，誤以為這種鳥永遠在飛行中。
