This, is the Alangyi Ancient Trail. Surrounded by oceans, Taiwan is home to a rich diversity of coastline landscapes and invaluable natural resources. The integrity of the Trail was at one time threatened by a planned highway construction project; but thanks to the tireless work of environmental advocacy groups and community residents, a preserve between Syuhai and Cape Guanyin Alangyi was successfully designated for protection.
