The inscriptions on the Qin seals were also of characters… 更多 current in the Qin government. It moved away from the rounder contours of the old zhuan (seal script) and adopted a more angular manner. The change disengaged some of the long entwining lines into dots and short strokes; the resulting composition bore great resemblance to the later lishu (clerical script).
