Brooklyn Chinese-American Association Lunar New Year’s Parade In celebration of the Year of the Monkey, tens of thousands of revelers participated in the Brooklyn Chinese-American Association’s Lunar New Year… 更多 parade on Feb. 21. The parade was kicked off at the 50th street and Eighth Ave with a dancing and singing performance, and marched down to 61st Street. With the lion dancers’ leading the procession, the party was festive and joyful with a lot of firecrackers, confetti, and balloons.
On behalf of the Republic of China (Taiwan) government, Ambassadress Lily Hsu, Director Karen Wang and Deputy Director Yvonne Wang of the Cultural Center of T.E.C.O., accompanied by B.C.A.A. President Paul Mak joined the parade and sending the warmest New Year’s wishes to the spectators. Local leaders and representatives from community, including New York City Public Advocate Letitia James, Comptroller Scott Stringer, state and local legislators, and police officials all attended to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
