In recent years, the life style of the Chao Yang community has changed to become a leisure center for tourists visiting the national forest walk-path. Fishermen there no longer go fishing on the sea. Therefore, the dyeing technique turned into dyeing cloth with using vinegar to maintain the color. Women in the community developed their own design of scarves, which had become one of the di s t ingui shing souvenirs of the community.
