The… 更多 famous Pottery Street and Yingge Ceramic Museum (Yīnggē táocí bówùguǎn/鶯歌陶瓷博物館) are only about 50 minutes train ride from the Taipei Railroad Station (huǒchēzhàn /台北火車站). Thin as cicada (chán/蟬) wings and light as air, the ultra-thin bowl (bótāiwǎn/薄胎碗) is made using traditional Chinese pottery (táocí/陶瓷) techniques and modern porcelain (cíqì/瓷器) artistry. The delicate and detailed paintings (huìhuà/繪畫) are done by hand by porcelain artist couple Lee Tsun Ren and Wang Hung Yu. It is their way of interpreting the Po Yi ultra thin bowl from Ying-ge Township. The ultra thin bowl's characteristics are: light (qīng/輕), thin (bó/薄), translucent (tòuguāng/透光) and rich in color (sècǎi fēngfù/色彩豐富).
